Sicilia Citrus Juices Srl also produces and sells essential oils: lemon, blond orange, blood orange, mandarin and bergamot. To complete our selection of products, we market vegetable purees and other fruit juices utilized in the food industry.
Sicilia Citrus Juices Srl utilizes the M.C.S. blending station in the Gioia Tauro port, which also functions as a cold store. Here we carry out aseptic filling - bag-in-box and bag-in-drum, as well as drumming and freezing. The M.C.S. facility, with the ltalian Customs authority, is able to receive juices “in transit” from outside the EC, for re-export, without incurring tax duty.
The Gioia Tauro port, situated on the Mediterranean Sea coast, is connected, via the principle shipping lines, with all the Mediterranean area, the Black Sea, the Arabian Gulf countries and the principle ports of Europe.

From a logistical point of view, Sicilia Citrus Juices Srl/M.C.S. are in the best position for the dispatch of goods both by sea-freight container and by road freight.

Historical notes on the traditional industrial manufacturing of citrus fruits in Sicily

During the second half of the 19th Century, it was in Messina (Sicily) that the industrial processing of citrus fruit began. At that point in time, citrus derivates did not exist anywhere in the world, and it was around 1870 that the extraction of essential lemon oil was commenced in Messina.
Successively, lemon juice was used for the production of citric acid and after that this was surpassed by the production of organic citric acid from molasses, the processing of single strength lemon juice was begun and later single strength orange juice. Emigrants from south ltaly took their knowledge of the cultivation and extraction of citrus fruits, following the methods learnt in the homeland, to new territories in other parts of the world. Noted examples are the Cutrale family in Brazile and the Trapani family in Argentina, who have demonstrated over time the genius of the peoples from south ltaly in the birth of the citrus industry.
